There are so many variables that can affect class dynamics and in the beginning of a teaching career you are still learning how to "read" and react to various situations that aren't expected. You articulated those challenges clearly this week in your blog post. As you say it is a learning process. Engaging as you did and being open to the suggestions of the veteran teachers around you can help you build up a rich toolkit of strategies to respond to situations you will see again and again over your career.
